Address 26072 Cottage Court, San Juan Capistrano, is cleared by SMWD to proceed with construction per the
submitted plans. There appears to be no impact to Public Water and Sewer; however, SMWD will provide final
clearance after the pool is constructed, backflow device is inspected and tested.
PLEASE NOTE: SMWD must be notified 48 hours prior to installation of the backflow device. Once installed,
SMWD will inspect the device. Backflow device must be tested by an approved backflow tester with a Backflow
Assembly Testing Certification from an ANSI accredited organization. After device inspection and successful
device testing, SMWD will provide final clearance.

The SMWD note on the plans still reads incorrectly with a few types and missing words. Please have it say the
following (word for word):
a. SMWD must be notified 48 hours prior to installation of the backflow device. Once installed, SMWD
will inspect the device and send
final clearance.
I see the new pipe that was added for the water; however, the pipe is not labeled so its difficult to understand what
it is. Please label this line as a “pool makeup line”.
Once these minor things are fixed – it should be a fairly quick turnaround.
