If you are not changing the gates or the onsite roadways, and just adding another
layer of fence around the perimeter of the property, then there is nothing for OCFA to
look at. That scope of work does require city approval, probably from the planning
department and building department. Have you already started the approval process
with them?

We have a pending building permit application that requires OFCA approval. Though I just took over
this area, there is a note in the system that has your contact information for approvals.
I also reviewed the portal to see if I should submit there but I don’t see any options that suit what
we need. Essentially, we will need the Fire department to come lock and test the Knox once install is
completed.
Can you please advise what else is needed for process on getting an approval letter from the Fire
department?

We are actually installing 4-8 inches inside the business’ existing perimeter fence. Our system is a suspended wire security system. I show that we are

If I am reading the description in the plans correctly, it looks like you are installing a perimeter security wall around the building and will come very
close, if not encroaching on, an SMWD sewer easement. As such you will need an Encroachment Permit. I have included the information and links for

Please submit all necessary documents listed in section 4. All documents can be submitted digitally.
To pay the $320.00 fee by credit card, please fill out the EP application and when you submit the application, include the
request to pay by credit card. At that time, an account will be set up and an email will be sent to you with the account number
and instruction to submit payment. When payment is made, please email a copy of the receipt to the engineering counter.
If you would like to pay with a check it can be mailed, dropped in the drop box located in front of the District building or brought
to the front desk Monday through Friday 8AM to 5PM.
Please note that review of the application cannot begin until all documents and payment – including a receipt if paying by credit
card - have been received. Once all documents have been submitted, please allow 7-10 days for review and issuance of the

Hi Jennifer,
I’m not sure what they are looking for. Did they tell you whether it was a Will Serve letter or an Encroachment Permit? I don’t see anything attached
that shows exactly where the work is taking place. There is an sewer easement at the back of the property and water and sewer lines at the front. I
have included a snip of what the GIS shows, if you can mark exactly where the work is going to take place so I can have an engineer look at it. Green
lines are sewer, blue lines are domestic water and yellow highlighted areas are easements.
