We are pleased to offer you the full-time position of Human Resources Manager for the City of San
Juan Capistrano. Your appointment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-
employment physical. Therefore, your anticipated date of employment is Wednesday, January 25,
2012. This appointment is an at -will, confidential, management position serving at the pleasure of
the City Manager. This position is included in the Executive Employee Group. There is no
probationary period and this appointment may be terminated at any time with or without cause or
right of appeal.
In accordance with the agreed upon terms and conditions of employment, the following is a
summary of the compensation and benefits which shall be provided to you:
Title: Human Resources Manager
Salary: $9,408 per month
Auto Allowance: $225 per month
Health Insurance: Medical — CaIPERS Health Plans (Currently the City pays up
to the highest HMO plan for employee and dependents; if
you enroll in a plan that has a higher cost, you will be
responsible for the difference in premium).
Opt Out - If covered under a spouse's medical group plan,
you may opt out of medical coverage and receive
$300/month.
Single emnllovee coverage reimbursement $137.50/month
Dental —Aetna (City -paid)
Vision - Vision Service Plan (City -paid)
Sick Leave: 8 hours per month
Vacation: Vacation accrual rate shall be 184 hours per year. You will
begin accruing 7.08 hours per pay period of vacation leave
upon date of hire.
Holidays: 11 days per year, plus 10 hours of floating holiday

Administrative Leave: The City provides 80 hours per year. You will begin accruing
3.07 hours per pay period of Administrative Leave upon date
of hire. You will have the option to cash out or carry over
up to 80 hours of administrative leave each year, in June and
December, provided no more than 80 hours are carried over
at any time.
Retirement: 2.7% @ 55, Orange County Employees Retirement System
(Reciprocal with CalPERS). Employee pays the entire
employee contribution based on your nearest age within six
months of when you become a member of OCERS until
reciprocity is established through CalPERS at your original
age of entry,
Deferred Compensation: Voluntary salary deferral up to IRS annual limits.
Life Insurance: The life insurance policy is paid by the City and provides a
value equivalent to two times employee's annual salary plus
$20,000, with a maximum of $250,000.
Short/Long Term
Disability Insurance: The Disability Insurance is paid by the City and provides up to
213 of salary after a 14 day elimination period.
Medicare: You are responsible for paying 1.45% for Medicare as
mandated by Federal regulations.
