COPP - RESIDENT Addendum No. 1 Page 2 The following changes to the Specifications and Contract Documents are promulgated through this addendum. Item 1. The "Beginning of Mork, Time of Completion and Liquidated Damages" section on page FR-26(Appendix A-2) shall read as follows: Attention is directed to the provisions in Section 8-1.06, "Beginning of Work," in Section 8-1.06, "Time of Completion," and in Section 8- 1.07, "Liquidated Damages," of the Standard Specifications and these special provisions. The Contractor shall begin work within 15 calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed. This work shall be diligently prosecuted to completion before the expiration of 70 calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed. The contractor shall pay to the City of San Juan Capistrano the sum of $500 per day, for each and every calendar day's delay in finishing the work in excess of the number of calendar days prescribed above. Item 2. On page C-1, the second line in the Fourth section should read as follows: "it is agreed that it would be impractical and extremely difficult to fix the actual amount of damages, and loss sustained by the CITY, should CONTRACTOR fail to complete the work in the specified time; therefore, CONTRACTOR shall pay CITY, as liquidated damages, not in.the nature of a penalty, Five Hundred Dollars($500) per calendar day for each day delayed; provided that extensions of time with waiver of liquidated damages, may be granted as provided in the Specifications" Item 3.
