Huber, Director of Engineering & Building SUBJECT: Approval of Application For SB 821 (OCTC) Local Grant Funds (Handicapped Access Ramps) SITUATION Each year the City is allocated a share, based on population, of funds to be used for bicycle or handicapped access distributed by the Orange County Transportation Commission. This year's allocation, $8,146, is to be spent on installing handicapped access ramps at the following locations: Northeast corner Camino Capistrano/Forster Street, El Camino Real at entry to ROP school, El Camino Real at entry to Library parking lot, Alipaz at entry to Rancho Del Avion Mobile Home Park, north and southeast corners of Los Pajaros at Camino Capistrano, north and southeast corners of Calle Bonita and Camino Capistrano. The attached grant package includes a resolution required for approval of the grant. Approval of the resolution will complete the grant package. NOTIFICATION Disabled Access Consultants (27932 Calle Belmonte, SJC) COMMISSION/BOARD REVIEW, RECOMMENDATIONS Staff has reviewed the proposed sights with Mr. Ronald Mincer, President of Disabled Access Consultants of San Juan Capistrano. FINANCIAL CONSIDERATIONS Total cost is estimated at $8,400. Grant funds available are $8,146 with the remaining $245 to be supplied by the City. ALTERNATE ACTIONS Approve the attached resolution. 2. Do not approve the resolution. 3. Request additional information from staff.
