Dear Ms. Crocker:
<
We are the board of directors of the Casas Capistrano Homeowners AssoaationWWe dm
writing to strenuously object to the City's plan to provide office space toin org&zati&t
providing services to drug addicts and alcoholics in the Stone Field office buildifig, and
wonder why the notice from the City conveniently concealed that fact. Obviously, the
City must know local neighbors would object to such a project.
While we are sympathetic to these addicts and wish them success in recovery, such a
facility should not be located in the Stone Field office building, next to schools, a soccer
field where local children play, near the child Head Start program, nor the Parent & Me
classes for toddlers provided 100 feet away. In fact, we are stunned the City would even
consider locating such an office near children. If anything, such an office should be
located nowhere near children. Furthermore, given the City's financial crisis, why are
such services being provided free of charge?
We would appreciate it greatly if the City would reconsider such an ill-advised project
and provide assistance to the addicts elsewhere. We look forward to receiving your
favorable response and thank you for your assistance.
Very trul yours,
PATRICK JOUANEL
Vice -President
