Murphy, Director of Public Works SUBJECT: Award of Contract - Calle Aspero Street Improvements SITUATION On April 29, 1980, ten bids were received for the construction of improvements to Calle Aspero. The top four are as follows: Contractor Price T. J. Crosby Company $58,998.30 Griffith Company 62,129.00 Porter Construction Company 62,551.50 Sully -Miller Contracting Company 67,060.66 FINANCIAL CONSIDERATIONS The City has an agreement with Bear Brand Ranch Company (Tract 9030) where the City will pay S25,000, and Bear Brand Ranch Company will pay the balance of the construction costs. There is $25,000 allotted in the 1979-80 budget. Bear Brand Ranch Company has deposited $16,000 toward construction of the project The Engineers estimate for the project was $65,000. ALTERNATE ACTIONS 1. Accept the low bid of $58,998.30 from T. J. Crosby Company. 2. Reject the bids. 3. Refer to staff for more information. RECOMMENDATION By motion, accept the bid of $58,998.30 from T. J. Crosby Company for the construction of improvements to Calle Aspero and authorize the Mayor to execute the contract on behalf of the City. Respectfully submitted, W. D.
