SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CALIFORNIA 92675 0 (714) 493-1171 QUARTERLY REPORT FOR SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO MULTI-MODAL PARKING DECK 1ST QUARTER 1 . Task A. On December 1 , 1992, the City Council approved Concept of the Multi-Modal Parking Deck subject to computer simulated view analyses. The view analyses/simulations were brought back for City Council consideration on March 2, 1993, and was unanimously approved to begin the design process. The Caltrans contract was executed and forwarded thereafter. Request For Proposal for Engineering design services were mailed out on April 26, 1993, and responses are due back by May 28, 1993. B. The Design RFP process is 100% complete and response period is one month ahead of the project schedule as identified in Exhibit "D" of the Caltrans contracts. C. It is anticipated that the completion of the review of the proposals and award of design contract will be 100% on schedule according to Exhibit "D" in the Caltrans contract. D. Three simulated view elevations have been completed in a before and after format. Three 30"x 40$ posterboard photos and nine slides were generated to help the City Council, downtown merchants and the community to visualize what has been proposed. Additionally, a proposed scope of work for the design of the parking deck has been produced as part of the Request For Proposal for consulting services. E. At this time, there have been no significant problems encountered. II. Overall Status A. The real hurdle for the project was to get the policy makers and community to buy into the concept of developing a parking deck in the downtown. Although it is the biggest hurdle, it has the least to do with actually developing the structure. At this point, it is reasonable to say the entire project is 2% complete. B. At this time, there is no significant changes in the total project which would necessitate an amendment to the Caltrans agreement. C. The estimated completion date for the entire project is still the same as that identified in the parking deck project schedule, Exhibit "D', of the Caltrans contract. At this time, there is no deviation from the agreement schedule.
