Resolution Number 19-02-05-02RESOLUTION NO. 19-02-05-02 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CALIFRONIA, INITIATING A GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT STUDY TO CHANGE THE LAND USE DESIGNATION FROM INDUSTRIAL PARK TO PLANNED COMMUNITY TO ALLOW THE DEVELOPMENT OF UP TO 188 RESIDENTIAL UNITS AND 35,000 SQUARE FEET OF OFFICE/RETAIL SPACE ON A 15.3 ACRE PARCEL AT 30700 RANCH VIEJO ROAD. (ASSESSOR PARCEL NUMBER 650-111-15) WHEREAS, Municipal Code Section 9-2.307 requires that the City Council initiate consideration of all General Plan Amendments; and WHEREAS, the applicant for the subject property requests a General Plan Amendment changing the land use designation of 15.3 acres of the project site from Industrial Park to Planned Community Land Use Designations; and WHEREAS, staff is in support of further study of the project allowing the assessment of the proposed project's compatibility with San Juan Capistrano General Plan land use goals and policies pursuant to City policy and Municipal Code regulations. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of San Juan Capistrano hereby initiates a General Plan Amendment Study for the proposed project located on approximately 15.3 acre site at 30700 Ranch Viejo Road, and refers the matter to staff for analysis and to the Planning Commission for a recommendation.
