Julian, City Manager 0 February 6, 1990 FROM: George Scarborough, Assistant City Manager SUBJECT: Amendment to Agreement for Parking Enforcement Services (Orange County Sheriff Department) SITUATION: In December the service provided by the Sheriff's Parking Control Officers was increased from forty hours, five days a week, to fifty-six hours, seven days a week. The increase in service hours has allowed significant improvement in parking control coverage on weekends. The annual cost for the increase in service is $22,503. Since the change in service occurred in December, the actual cost to the City this fiscal year will be $12,766. Based on the average number of citations issued daily by the Parking Control Officers, the additional cost will be fully offset by increases of revenue from fines and forfeitures. Attached is the amendment to the Sheriff's contract which provides for the increase in the services of the Parking Control Officers to fifty-six hours, seven days a week. COMMISSION/BOARD REVIEW &'RECOMMENDATIONS: Not applicable. FINANCIAL CONSIDERATIONS: The increase in service will result in a $12,766 increase in the cost of Sheriff services during the 1989-1990 fiscal year. This increase in cost will be recovered in an increase in revenue received from fines and forfeitures. NOTIFICATION: None. ALTERNATE ACTIONS: 1.
