Murphy, Director of Public Works SUBJECT: Vereda Bikeway, Via Estenaga to Avenida Siega - Resolution, Notice of Completion and Final Report (Zagros Company) SITUATION The construction of the Vereda Bikeway from Via Estenaga to Avenida Siega has been completed to the satisfaction of the City Engineer and is ready for acceptance by the City Council and recordation of a Notice of Completion with the County Recorder. NOTIFICATION Jennifer Abt, Orange County Transportation Commission Zagros Company COMMISSION/BOARD REVIEW, RECOMMENDATIONS Not Applicable FINANCIAL CONSIDERATIONS The contract was awarded to Zagros Company for $39,416.30 and was completed for this amount. SB 821 funding for the contract amount was received from the Orange County Transportation Commission after the award of contract. The ten percent (10%) retention of $3,941.63 will be reduced by $355.00, the cost of additional compaction testing funded by the City. The revised retention is $3,586.63. ALTERNATE ACTIONS 1. Accept the improvements. 2. Do not accept the improvements. 3. Refer to Staff for additional information. RECOMMENDATION By resolution, determine that the work for Vereda Bikeway from Via Estenaga to Avenida Siega has been completed and declare the work to be accepted; direct the City Clerk to forward a Notice of Completion to the County Recorder for recording; and authorize Staff to release the ten percent (10%) retention in the amount of $3,586.63 thirty-five (35) days after the recordation of the Notice of Completion.
