PRESERVATION MONTH
A RESOLUTION OF THE CULTURAL HERITAGE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SAN
JUAN CAPISTRANO, CALIFORNIA RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL
ISSUANCE OF A PROCLAMATION IN RECOGNITION OF NATIONAL HISTORIC
PRESERVATION MONTH
Whereas, the Cultural Heritage Commission recognizes the benefits of
historic preservation within the City of San Juan Capistrano, California;
Whereas, the Cultural Heritage Commission requests recognition of historic
preservation;
Whereas, on February 28, 2017 the Cultural Heritage Commission conducted
a public meeting to consider the subject item and considered all relevant public comments;
and,
Whereas, the Environmental A9ministrator has reviewed the request
pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and determined that the
project is not subject to review under CEQA and,
Whereas, the Cultural Heritage Commission after carefully considering all
pertinent information, testimony and staff report presented at the public meeting, now
recommends; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Cultural Heritage
Commission of the City of San Juan Capistrano does hereby find that the action is not
subject to further review under CEQA.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Cultural
Heritage Commission of the City of San Juan Capistrano does hereby make the following
request:
1. Recognize National Historic Preservation Month, May 2017.
2. Support activities which increase the community's knowledge and appreciation of
historic structures.
3. Request the City Council provide a proclamation declaring the City of San Juan
Capistrano's support for National Historic Preservation month, May 2017.
CUSTODIAN OF RECORDS: The documents and materials associated with
this Resolution that constitute the record of proceedings on which these findings are based
are located at San Juan Capistrano City Hall, 32400 Paseo Adelanto, San Juan
Capistrano, California 92675. The Development Services Director is the custodian of the
record of proceedings.

PROTEST OF FEES, DEDICATIONS, RESERVATIONS OR OTHER
EXACTIONS: Pursuant to Government Code Section 66020, the applicant may protest the
imposition of fees, dedications, reservations or other exactions imposed on this
development project by taking the necessary steps and following the procedures
established by Sections 66020 through 66022 of the California Government Code.
