Residential Projects with Long-Term Affordability Agreements from Residential
Growth Management Regulations - Mr. Amstrup made a presentation on the
proposed code amendment. The Committee expressed general support for the
concept of exempting units with long term affordability agreements from the City’s
Residential Growth Management Regulations, however, the Committee was
concerned by the lack of provisions for an annual cap on the number of affordable
units built each year. A general discussion ensued regarding the potential for
significant numbers of affordable units to be constructed each year
After discussion Committee Member Cohen offered a motion directing staff to return
to the Committee with a revised draft code amendment which would provide a
formula for an annual cap on the number of affordable units built in the City.
Committee Member Winkler seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
